Roll The Bones
Who does love Halloween? One of my favourite times of year. As a child I have fond memories of all the old Disney cartoons that would be on television around the Halloween season. I particularly enjoyed the ones that featured skeletons. I loved the idea of skeletons dancing and marching around in the graveyard. This piece was written to be a musical representation of a skeleton party happening at the graveyard late at night. The skeletons are dancing, listening to music, and playing games. As the sun starts to rise, they disappear back into their graves. This piece is designed for beginning band and introduces simple chromaticism as well as different articulation patterns.
